I had a pretty good childhood, surrounded by family, but addiction runs deep in my city and among my family and friends. The only way I ever learned how to deal with my problems was to get high. And so at the age of 22, a bad break-up left me homeless and suicidal.. I tried to kill myself and came as close as it gets, but Jesus was there to give me another chance.

After that, I still tried to do it my own way. I started using/selling meth.. Meth led to fentanyl and heroin and within a year I was a full blown criminal willing to do anything to support my habit. I was in and out of jail more times than I could count, and when I finally went to prison, I was done! I decided I didn't want to go any further down that path, but I still didn't know God.

At that time, my dad was finally overcoming his 30 year old addiction at U-Turn for Christ. So a couple years later when I got out of prison and started to backslide, he knew just what to do. I moved away from Denver to go to U-Turn in October 2023. And I haven't looked back.

God is really working in this ministry, changing the lives of some of the most damaged and lost people in our society. I am so blessed to have this second chance, because I fully believed that I could never change. If you asked me back then, I would've told you I'm a lost cause, but God transformed me into a new man! If you knew me 5 years ago, you would never recognize who I am today, and I give all the glory to God because of what He is doing at U-Turn for Christ! The ministry that changed my life!

Coming to U-Turn for Christ for was kind of a blessing, a place where men can come and get a deep relationship with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Ever since I got here I've been doing well.

God put my life back together.  Jesus is centered in my life and I've been forgiven and gained grace and mercy, and obtained my salvation.  Such a blessing.

I came to the ranch February 18th 2021. I struggled with alcohol for 13 years before my life really started to spiral for the last four years of my addiction.  I got saved at 17 after moving to Colorado Springs from San Jose,  California.  I stopped going to church shortly after I got saved, and before I knew it, I was hanging around the wrong people and doing my own thing. I didn't think that drinking could ever send me down the dark path that it did.  Before I knew it, I was alone terrified and going through alcohol withdrawal.  The only thing that got me through was the Lord.  Even though I turned my back on Him, He was there for me.  There were many nights that I fell asleep with my bible close to me.  The turning point for me was finding out about U-Turn for Christ on the internet. At first it seemed hopeless because I did not have any money to get to the ranch. I ended up going to RMC in Colorado Springs and the greeter, Donny, told me that they help guys get to the ranch.  i was amazed, but in very bad shape.  I filled out the application and as I was waiting th enemy seemed to attack me twice as hard.  One day I went to RMC and told them I HAVe to get to U-Turn or I'm not going to make it. Before I knew it one of the leaders, Charlie, was there to pick me up. I remember talking to Pastor Jeff because I was so afraid that they wouldn't take me.  Pastor Jeff knew that I was at the end of my rope.  After Charlie picked me up it was like the nightmare was over. I've been at the ranch ever since.  I graduated second phase October 18th, 2021 and became an overseer shortly after.  I've seen guys struggle and I've seen guys thrive. I can't thank God enough for saving my life. I pray that men can find U-turn for Christ if they are struggling with addiction or need to find the Lord.  I now have an extended family and I'm forever grateful.
